I’m a kayaker, and love paddling the SF Payette and saw nothing wrong with these guys running their jet boats up it. In fact, I thought is was pretty damn awesome and would have loved to have been in the boat with them. If a kayaker can’t avoid a jetboat, they don’t need to be on the river anyway not to mention most jetboats that I’ve encountered on the river have been quite considerate of us kayakers and waited until we were out of the way before giving it the throttle.

Not sure if anyone will ever be crazy enough or have the right boat for a 1st ascent on the northfork when its 4.5k+ cfs in early June (i.e. this year), but it you never know???

Paddlers need to watchout, but normally paddlers do have the right of way, unless they purposly get in the way of a power boat.

What you all are overlooking in this yammer is timing. There are very few days with enough water for a boat & on those early spring, high water days, the kayakers are not in that river yet. Look @ the pics! There isn’t any conflict. You all are making it up & creating an argument from nothing.
