Whether referring to storage covers or sun shields, there are many different pontoon boat covers for which you can opt. Shaped to fit the pontoon structure, pontoon boat covers come in various sizes to custom fit your boat for great coverage and protection. If you are looking for a top to shade the boat from the sun, other covers are available in the form of bimini tops as well, acting like porticos for your boat.

Pontoon boat covers can also be found in a variety of materials, with many being fabricated from marine grade polyester. Others are available in canvas, a sturdy, thick material that is virtually impermeable. Often, you can find different colors available as well, with some being custom made with designs of your choice. What is the need for a cover, and how much do they cost?

Pontoon boat covers are made to secure your pontoon boat against the elements, including inclement weather, brilliant hot sun, dirt and dust, other particles in the air, and even large amounts of insects. Even kept in a storage facility, insects and dust can infest an uncovered boat, and your pontoon boat is too large an investment and too important as part of your recreational lifestyle to allow such destructive material to overtake your boat.

In regards to pontoon boat covers as sun shades, these are especially important since pontoon boats are usually taken out in the summer for entire days, with you and your friends or family in the heat and brilliance of the sun for several hours. Without a top on the boat, there is no relief from the heat and UV rays, meaning that you can easily become dehydrated, even with lots of water to drink, and sunburned, even if you have sunblock that you reapply frequently.

Pontoon boat covers like bimini tops are typically made of canvas because the material stretches taut across the top of the pole structure that holds it up as a canopy. It is also a great solution for days when an unexpected rain occurs while youre on the lake and it takes some time to get back to land. You can at least shelter for a brief storm or find some safety beneath the top as you head back home.

Using either of these types of pontoon boat covers can save a lot of pain and hassle in the future, preserving the unharmed state of your boat and helping to keep you out of harms way in the hot summer months when you most enjoy your time on the water.

When you become a boat owner, you will obviously want some means of protection for your new boat against the elements. Weather can really age your boat quickly, and boat covers become a necessity in keeping your boat new and clean. When shopping around for different types of boat covers, youll find many options available to you, depending on what you want to spend and how customized you want your cover to be.

Boat covers can be simple slipcovers that slip right over the top of your boat and simply cover the most important parts of the boat the insides and the engine. This will keep the mechanical parts of the engine from rusting in the rain and keep vinyl seats from cracking in the harsh sun. If you really want to make sure to get a perfect fit, you can order boat covers custom made to the dimensions of your boat, assuring that it will fit snugly with no spaces for any weather to creep in.

Other types of boat covers include temporary boat garages, which are basically simple storage facilities that are quick and easy to assemble and disassemble for the protection of your boat when its not in use. With these garages, you can be certain that your boat is protected from sleet, snow, rain, sun, and other elements during the winter months when you arent out on the lake daily. This reduces the need for any kind of garage space for your boat and solves the need a cover.

You can also use portable boat buildings as boat covers. These are often predrilled and cut to custom specifications for ease of your assembly so that your boat and all of its accessories can be stored in the building on your own property. All of these can be quite affordable and offer a solution to the problem of protecting your boat.

Without using boat covers, you would be surprised at the amount of damage that can be done to your boat in a short period of time just from the weather. Exposure to the sun can cause damage to the seat material cracks and fraying of the material as well as fading of the coloration of the material inside. Rain can rust metallic and mechanical parts of the boat that are not under any kind of boat covers, and hail damage could break any glass or dent any metal.

As a boat owner, you should be concerned with the condition of your boat, since it is a considerable investment for you. Be sure to use one of these boat covers to assure the safety of your boat.

To understand why Jon boat covers are so necessary for the preservation of your water vessel, you must first know a little bit about the Jon boat itself. If you are unfamiliar with the material and style of the boat, you can possibly understand the need for such a cover, and you would be hard pressed to choose from among the many options which Jon boat covers are right for your particular watercraft.

Jon boat covers are made especially for Jon boats. These particular vehicles are made of either wood or aluminum and are flat-bottomed boats generally used for fishing. They are typically designed with one, two, or three benches for fishermen to sit on and have an outboard motor that is mounted onto a transom. Usually, Jon boats are not expensive, they are simple to use, and they are quite easy to maintain, if you have the proper items with which to care for them. Because they are so simple, Jon boat covers offer a quick, easy solution for preventative maintenance.

Why are Jon boat covers so important if these boats are not very expensive to begin with? Remember, Jon boats are generally constructed from either aluminum or wood. First of all, this means that they are not meant to be kept in the water, only taken out when its time to fish. Secondly, Jon boats are extremely susceptible to the elements. Aluminum can rust quite easily in heavy and consistent rains, and wood will become heavily warped, causing possibilities of holes in the boat that can lead to leakage and even sinking. Using Jon boat covers can help prevent such occurrences by protecting the boat from the elements in the first place, keeping the boat dry in the rain, even if you simply have it stored outdoors in your open backyard.

While you could use a generic tarp or other type of boat cover, getting the ones made specifically for Jon boats will assure that there is no way for the weather to get inside because the shape and size will be fitted to your Jon boat. It will also help keep out other pesky things, such as insects, dirt, and other elements that are just as detrimental to the condition of the boat as the weather.

If you intend to be economical and buy a Jon boat, then be reasonable and also purchase Jon boat covers. While the boat is not a huge investment, it can last many years if you properly care for it and maintain it, especially using preventative measures such as covers.

Even if you keep your boat inside a sealed storage facility or garage, it can be important to the condition of your boat to use boat storage covers. These covers will prevent all sorts of decay and destruction to the various parts of your boat over the months and years as it is stored and unused for long periods of time. Why are boat storage covers so important to the lifespan of your boat?

First of all, if you store your boat outdoors, it is completely exposed to the elements of the environment. Most of all, the sun and the rain will cause the rapid destruction of your vessel if left to the elements. Boat storage covers allow for protection from sun damage, including cracked and worn seats, as well as fading of paint coloring and materials on all parts of the boat. Also, rain can cause mold and mildew to build up in a wet boat. The boat storage covers can protect your boat from rain, snow, and sleet.

Even if you have an enclosed storage facility or a garage in which you store your boat, there are elements that can cause damage to the inside of your watercraft. For example, there are insects all over these storage facilities and often in garages. While boat storage covers cannot guarantee that an insect or two wont get into the boat, they will help to protect your boat against large quantities of bugs taking shelter in your vessel and building communities within the shelter of your boat.

Also, even in an enclosed space, dust and dirt accumulate, sometimes more so than in an outdoor area. Therefore, you run the risk of dirt and dust clogging up your engine and embedding into the interior materials of your boat if you dont use boat storage covers. This dust and dirt on the interior can cause discoloration and early decay of the materials. Therefore, using a cover can actually preserve the lifespan of a boat that is stored inside an enclosed facility, even more so than the roof, walls, and door that seal out most of the weather elements that can be so detrimental.

Wherever you keep your boat, you want it to age as little as possible as time goes on so that it doesnt depreciate in value and so that it maintains that exciting look of the brand new boat it was the day you bought it. Using good boat storage covers will assist in assuring that this is true for you, both now and for years to come.

If you are in the market for boat covers, canvas is the way to go. This sturdy, heavy duty material will give your boat the best protection possible from the sun and other weather, as well as any other uncontrollable elements and factors. In terms of boat covers, canvas is the heaviest, thickest material available and will assure good preservation of your boat.

Canvas is actually made of cotton and is woven in a very simple under-over tight weave. As a cloth and for boat covers, canvas comes in two different types: plain and Duck, with the threads of the Duck canvas being more tightly woven. It is also graded in two ways, by weight and by number. The numbers are in reverse of the weight, so a higher number equals a lighter material.

In the past, canvas was made of linen and was not as good of a solution for boat covers. Canvas today, however, is made of cotton, referred to since the early 20th century as cotton duck. This material has a tighter, more mechanical weave and stretches more, meaning that you can get a tighter fit around your boat for greater security against water, dirt, and other external factors.

While canvas is not impenetrable, it will last for years with no risk of leakage. It is only after years of using boats covers canvas will become permeable and perhaps allow some elements to pierce between its threads. This is true of all material, having stretched out over time and widened the weaving between threads. Because of its tight weave and heavy weight, especially in boat covers, canvas will last a lot longer before this occurs than most materials.

Canvas is used for many other things besides storage boat covers. Canvas can also make an excellent canopy for your boat, much like a bimini top, helping to shade you from the sun while you are out on the lake. It is also used by artists because of its thickness and ability to stretch. This makes the media on which the paint goes smoother and slightly porous, absorbing the oil paint better and more evenly.

By the same token, when choosing boat covers, canvas allows for a more solid, even covering of your boat, and you can dye or paint it much like an oil painting so that you can give it style and flash. After all, even when your boat is covered, it should be eye catching. In regards to boat covers, canvas gives you a lot of options and a great sense of contentment with little worry about how well your boat is protected.

Why would you necessarily need to use a boat cover for your bass boat? If you are like most fishermen, you invested a great deal of money into your boat, and bass boat covers can help you protect your investment. Any time the boat is not in use and is simply being stored, it is in danger from the elements. Even under cover of a portico, in a marina, or in an enclosed garage or storage facility, bass boat covers can help to preserve the state of your boat and keep it from mildewing, being damaged from sun, rain, and other weather issues, and even from being invaded by insects.

When you look for bass boat covers, youll find that there are many options available to you, including custom made covers for your particular boat. Depending on how much you want to spend on them, any number of bass boat covers can be special ordered to the exact specifications of your boat. You also have the option for general bass boat covers precut in various sizes to fit almost any bass boat. Covers like this will cost a bit less because they are prefabricated and not custom-fit.

Bass boat covers also come in several material types, also depending on how much you want to spend. For example, Basscat offers three lines of covers; each made in multiple sizes for various boats, and offered in three different material types. All of these factors incur a variety of costs, and when you custom order your boat cover, youll find out just how much your particular size, style, and material will cost you.

When you price out custom made bass boat covers, youll probably notice that they arent exactly inexpensive. However, when you think about the cost of maintenance youll pay on a boat that doesnt have a cover, there is no comparison. Imagine the seats in your boat cracking and needing to be recovered. Picture the metal on your boat rusting and looking shabby. Think about the discoloration that can be caused by sun and rain over time, leading to splotchy coloring of the material in the boat. All of this causes more than just the aesthetic displeasure of seeing the damage it devalues your boat, causing you to lose money on your investment.

If you intend to keep your boat for a long time, bass boat covers are a must. You need to be prepared to care for your investment if you want it to be a good purchase that will not only bring joy and fun to your life but also maintain its value over time. Protecting it with a cover is the best way to assure that its well kept.
